Overview

Title: Electrician (Electrical Craft Technician)

Location: Corby, Northampton

Shift: Monday - Friday (Rotating pattern of days, lates and nights)

Salary: Circa £36,000 - £38,000 per annum (including shift allowance)

The Company:

We are undergoing substantial investment and development to drive the organisation's mission of being a sustainable metal provider. The successful applicant will be a time served Electrician who has worked in heavy industry, carrying out maintenance craft work.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the smooth operation and maintenance of the plant's electrical systems.
  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance to reduce downtime.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues with AC/DC motors, drives, and relay control circuits.
  • Handle basic PLC fault finding on Siemens S7 systems (300, 1200, and 1500).
  • Read electrical schematics and use computerized maintenance management systems (MMS).
  • Propose and implement improvement projects to enhance plant reliability and efficiency.
  • Strictly follow all Health and Safety protocols and SSOW.
  • Support departmental improvement initiatives.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Qualified Electrician with a completed apprenticeship and at least 2 years of experience in a heavy industrial setting.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and perform root cause failure analysis.
  • Experience with low-voltage systems, drives, and PLCs.
  • Familiarity with SAP or a similar computerized system.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation.
  • Must have a driving license and a vehicle and be available for flexible shifts.
  • 18th Edition certification (desired)
