We are currently looking to recruit Industrial Electricians to work across the Yorkshire region in our within our Service Centre Asset Maintenance Department here at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers.
Permanent. You’ll be working 37 hours per week plus additional overtime as required.

As an Industrial Electrician, you will undertake repairs and maintenance of Yorkshire Waters Electrical and Mechanical assets across wastewater treatment and pumping installations. Mobile working as part of a Service Centre Asset Maintenance Department to deliver Planned & Reactive maintenance. Driving to deliver improved asset reliability through effective decision making.
As an Industrial Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, servicing, and repairing electrical equipment across Yorkshire Waters Clean and Wastewater sites. You will complete all work safely, professionally, and efficiently, ensuring high standards of electrical engineering practice.
The ideal candidate will have strong electrical skills and hands-on experience, including the ability to assess and condemn faulty equipment on-site before returning it to the workshop for repair. You will support both the Service Centre Team and the Mitigation Department by carrying out pre-hire and post-hire assessments on electrical side our pump equipment, including control panels; completing electrical testing; inspecting pump wear components; assisting with the installation of new equipment; disconnecting electrical equipment; and providing broader electrical support to meet the operational needs of both the Mitigation Department and the overall Service Centre.
You will work closely with the Service Centre Coordinator to prioritise workloads and maintain effective relationships with operational teams, colleagues, suppliers, and contract partners. A strong commitment to health and safety is essential, including hazard identification, mitigation, and reporting into the company hazard database to ensure risks are properly addressed.
You will proactively identify and report follow-on work or areas for improvement. You will conduct your own risk assessments and develop appropriate method statements as required to safely carry out maintenance activities. The successful candidate will also have the ability to specify parts and equipment needed for procurement as part of the day-to-day role.
You will also use a Toughbook/iPad to record work activity and update job status in line with workflow processes.
Additional responsibilities include supporting the development and training of apprentices and less experienced team members, as well as identifying opportunities to improve value and service within the Service Centre and the wider Maintenance Function.
Ideally, you will have previous experience gained as an industrial electrician within the water or wastewater sectors or within the broader utilities, process, or manufacturing industry sectors. You will have a proven track record of maintaining and repairing 3 phase rotating machinery and associated control systems. You will have a systematic approach to fault finding using industry best practice, where required the ability to share and mentor others.
As part of this role, you will be required to work within confined spaces, any successful candidate must pass strict medical criteria including, BMI, vision, blood pressure, hearing, and Spirometry tests to ensure your full safety when working in hazardous environments.

If successful for the role, you will be required to undergo pre-employment checks that will include a Basic Disclosure Check, carried out through a Third-Party Company, prior to commencing employment.
