Job description
Overview

Electrician – Coventry & Warwickshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, Brooklands, Marston Green B37 7HL. Band 4 - £15.67 per hour. Monday - Friday 08:30 - 16:30 (37.5 hours per week). Includes weekend on call every 3 weeks but rarely used. 6 months initially but may turn permanent for the right candidate subject to performance.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, repair and fault find on complex electrical services, engineering plans and equipment.
  • Work on electrical distribution systems including emergency standby lighting.
  • Use initiative, knowledge and experience when designing, quantifying, manufacturing, and installation of electrical services.
  • Maintenance of electrical lighting, power installations, motors, HVAC, control circuits including timers, contactors, overloads, interlocks, etc., within buildings, electrical plant, and equipment. Electrical systems and associated equipment on both LV and SELV operating voltages.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of electrical & mechanical services.
  • Undertake planned maintenance work as dictated by the line manager, prioritise daily workload and carry out repairs to electrical installations.
  • Gain knowledge of electrical installations in new developments as they are placed into service.
  • As directed by the line manager, manufacture, assemble, erect, and install new mechanical/electrical plant and equipment as appropriate.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of statutory regulations, health and safety legislation and best practice guidance associated with electrical installations and attend training courses as directed by Estates Management.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
  • 18th Edition certification.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of the compliance demands in a health care setting.
  • Experience in Electrical Building Services Maintenance is desirable but not essential.
  • This role may require evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.
