Job Advert: Static Electrician

Location: Fareham (Commercial Property)

Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Static Electrician to join our facilities management team, based permanently at a large commercial property in Fareham. In this role, you will be the on‑site expert for all electrical maintenance, responsible for ensuring the building’s electrical systems are safe, compliant, and fully operational. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified electrician who enjoys working in a stable, professional environment and taking ownership of their work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on all electrical systems, including lighting, power, emergency lighting, and fire alarm systems.
  • Responding promptly to reactive maintenance and electrical faults, diagnosing issues, and carrying out effective repairs.
  • Performing minor electrical installations and project work as required.
  • Carrying out fixed wire testing and inspections (if qualified), and completing necessary remedial works.
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with current health and safety standards and BS 7671 (18th Edition) regulations.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance tasks, reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider on‑site maintenance team to ensure a seamless service delivery.
What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Fully qualified electrician (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 2365, or equivalent).
  • 18th Edition (BS 7671) certification.
  • Proven experience working in a commercial or building services maintenance environment.
  • A strong understanding of PPM schedules and reactive maintenance.
  • Excellent fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
  • A professional attitude with good communication skills.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) for Inspection & Testing.
  • Experience with building management systems (BMS).
  • A valid ECS card.
