Electrician
Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and professional Maintenance and Testing Electrician to join our dedicated team, responsible for ensuring the safety and high standards of our properties across the Eastleigh area. This role focuses heavily on electrical testing and certification, coupled with essential maintenance and upgrade work within occupied and void social housing properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cyclical Testing & Inspection:
    • Execute the 5-year cyclical testing and inspection program on all properties, including residential homes and communal areas.
    • Perform Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) and remedial work as required.
    • Carry out initial verification, inspection, and testing for new installations and upgrades.
  • Reactive & Planned Maintenance:
    • Diagnose and rectify electrical faults promptly and efficiently as part of the repairs service for customers.
    • Complete electrical works within empty homes ('Voids') to ensure swift re-letting.
    • Contribute to planned work programs, including kitchen, bathroom, and heating upgrades.
    • Install and upgrade communal lighting systems.
  • Compliance & Certification:
    • Accurately complete and issue NICEIC certification (or similar software equivalent) for all works performed.
    • Ensure all work complies with the latest regulations, including the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
    • Maintain detailed records of inspections, testing, and maintenance activities.
  • Customer Service:
    • Maintain a professional, friendly, and courteous demeanor when interacting with residents and colleagues.
    • Uphold a high standard of workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation/Maintenance (or equivalent recognised apprenticeship).
  • City & Guilds 2382-18 (or equivalent) - 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations.
  • AM2 (Achievement Measurement 2) certification - A mandatory requirement.
  • City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 combined (Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations) - A mandatory requirement.
  • Proven experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and fault-finding.
  • Demonstrable experience with NICEIC certification processes or equivalent software.
  • Experience working within a social housing, domestic, or maintenance environment is highly advantageous.
  • Hold a full, current UK driving licence.
