Job summary

A recruitment firm is seeking an Electrical Wiring Technician to join their client in Bolton on a 12-month contract. The role pays £28.35 per hour, rising to £29.70, and requires an advanced level apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or Manufacturing, alongside academic and vocational qualifications. Responsibilities include fault finding on cabling, equipment maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Previous experience in aerospace or defense is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Must have a formal apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or Manufacturing.
  • Need Level 3 academic qualification in Electrical Engineering or Manufacturing.
  • Preferably have IPC 620 & Dynamic Cabling certification.

Responsibilities

  • Fault finding and repair of cable assemblies.
  • Carry out surface mount repair on CCAs.
  • Maintain and repair test/measuring equipment to component level.
  • PAT testing across the manufacturing site.
  • Interrogate drawings during fault finding activities.
  • Test safety systems of Test & Measuring equipment.
  • Provide technical support for servicing STTE.
  • Maintain workspace husbandry disciplines.
  • Ensure high degree of tool control and FOD practices.
  • Assist with maintenance of manufacturing aids.
