Premier Engineering is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join our client’s team in West Berkshire.

This role focuses on carrying out electrical assembly, testing, and maintenance of equipment and systems, ensuring products are built to the highest quality and safety standards. The position will involve close collaboration with engineering, production, and quality teams to support ongoing projects and new product introductions.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out electrical assembly, wiring, and fault‑finding practices on equipment and systems.
  • Test and maintain electrical components and control panels, ensuring safety and reliability.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to support ongoing projects and new product introductions.
  • Use electrical test equipment such as multimeters, PAT testers, and insulation resistance testers.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
  • Qualified with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of electrical assembly, wiring, and fault‑finding practices.
  • Familiarity with electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience working with control panels, harnesses, or industrial electrical systems.
  • Understanding of relevant electrical safety standards.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to use electrical test equipment (multimeters, PAT testers, insulation resistance testers, etc.).
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent vocational qualification in electrical or engineering.
