Join the Future of Urban Transport! CAF Rail Services is powering the next generation of driverless DLR trains, and Ford & Stanley Talentwise is on the hunt for a skilled Electrical Technician to be part of this cutting-edge transformation at Beckton Depot.

The Opportunity: Imagine working on a fleet of brand-new, state-of-the-art trains—equipped with air conditioning, mobile charging points, and enhanced accessibility. These upgrades are a leap into the future of London's transport network. Your work will directly impact millions of passengers, ensuring safety, comfort, and reliability across the DLR.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Fault-finding, testing, and repairs on high-tech systems, including:
    • Traction Control & Braking Systems
    • Passenger Info Systems, PA & CCTV
    • Access Doors & HVAC
    • Diesel Engines, Generators & High Voltage Systems
    • Complex Cab Control Systems with GPS & Safety Tech
    • Hydraulics (up to 300 bar) & Pneumatics (up to 12 bar)
  • You'll use diagnostic software, schematics, and advanced testing equipment to keep these futuristic trains running smoothly.
Location & Hours

Base: Beckton, East London

Schedule: Start on day shifts, transitioning to rotating shifts (days, nights, weekends) expected from October 2025

The Candidate

You're a dual-skilled technician with an electrical bias, ideally with rolling stock experience. You thrive on solving complex problems and take pride in precision and performance.

Must-Haves
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong fault-finding and root cause analysis skills
  • Confident reading schematics (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic)
  • Skilled with diagnostic software and testing tools
