Come and join us as an Electrical Team Leader at our Denton site in North Manchester!

About the role

Wienerberger is a leading international provider of building materials and infrastructure solutions. Our factory in Denton specialises in making bricks, and as an Electrical Team Leader you will be part of the in‑house team that keeps the plant and equipment running smoothly. You will be involved in troubleshooting, planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and hands‑on specialist machinery work, contributing to the efficiency and reliability of our production processes.

Responsibilities
  • Safe working – produce risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Act as the site Authorised Person for the issuing and control of permitted activities and help manage ongoing engineering maintenance activities.
  • Work with the Engineering Planner to maximise resource utilisation.
  • Ensure parts, tools and materials are available for all tasks.
  • Co‑ordinate statutory electrical requirements (inspection & testing, portable appliance testing, fire alarms, emergency lighting).
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping throughout the workshops.
  • Carry out electrical installation, maintenance, fault‑finding and repairs of power and control systems, plant and equipment.
  • Provide support and resources for project works.
  • Carry out inspections and audits, giving advice and support on engineering quality and safety standards.
  • Promote Lean thinking and actively seek ways to improve efficiencies.
  • Identify future training needs and deliver training for engineers.
  • Promote continuous improvement of energy efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate and detailed recording of engineering works, administration, personnel, health and safety information.
About You
  • Electrical‑engineering background with a minimum Level 3 qualification.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing/factory environment, preferably in heavy manufacturing, FMCG, chemical or food industries.
  • Strong health and safety awareness and commitment to safe working.
  • Strong leadership, communication and motivational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical and fault‑finding abilities.
  • Good exposure to health & safety standards and EHS knowledge.
  • Experience with PLCs – maintenance, programming and diagnostics.
  • Planning and organisational skills.
  • Passion for improvement and knowledge of Lean manufacturing.
  • Physical fit to perform the duties of the role.
Hours of Work

8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday to Thursday; 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Friday.
