Electrical Shift Lead – Nights Only (4 on / 4 off)
Location: Chiswick, West London
Salary: £61,000 Benefits

Overview

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Shift Lead to take ownership of night operations at a high-profile critical commercial and events site in West London. This is a hands-on supervisory role, leading a small team while ensuring the site’s essential systems remain resilient and operational during overnight hours.

The site is technically demanding and hosts seasonal events comparable in scale to major sporting and entertainment venues — requiring an engineer who thrives under pressure, can solve problems quickly, and takes pride in delivering reliability in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the shift team in delivering both planned and reactive electrical maintenance
  • Supervise the operation of key plant including LV/HV systems, pumps, motors, AHUs, and building management systems
  • Act as the escalation point for electrical and technical issues overnight
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, safety protocols, and client requirements
  • Assist with event-driven readiness, ensuring electrical systems can support seasonal surges in demand
  • Carry out detailed handovers and maintain accurate records of shift activity
Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential)
  • City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 (Test & Inspection)
  • High Voltage experience or AP status (advantageous)
  • Demonstrable experience in critical environments (data centres, broadcast/media, healthcare, or similar)
  • Previous supervisory/lead role experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage both people and plant during night operations
