As a Shift Engineer in the Data Centre Solutions team, your duties will include:

Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain site electrical systems according to industry codes and guidelines.
  • Maintain and execute Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs) for built equipment efficiently and on schedule.
  • Perform day-to-day maintenance and reactive repairs on electrical equipment and assets.
  • Record and report information using computer-based systems, especially PPM systems.
  • Identify and rectify faults, escalate issues related to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems as necessary.
  • Install and modify electrical services on-site.
  • Communicate effectively with the Shift Supervisor regarding plant status, issues, and housekeeping standards.
  • Order parts accurately and report any difficulties encountered during engineering activities.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping in plant areas, workshops, stores, and rest areas.
  • Operate and troubleshoot systems including:
    • Building electrical installations, panels, equipment, and circuits
    • Emergency lighting and lighting control systems
    • Building Management Systems (BMS)
    • Fire suppression and detection systems
    • Air conditioning systems, VAV, FCUs, Split Systems, AHUs, VSDs
    • Heating systems, generators, controls, motors
    • UPS systems and HV systems (training provided)
Skills:
  • Experience in the building services industry
  • C&G Level 1 and 2 or equivalent in electrical maintenance
  • 18th Edition IEE Wiring & Installation certification
  • HV Approved Person (preferred)
  • Confined Space Entry trained (if required)
  • Recognized training or apprenticeship
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with all staff levels
  • Technical competence in UPS, generators, static switches, water treatment, refrigeration, and air conditioning (preferred)
  • Proactive approach to operational excellence
  • Willingness to undergo training, including nights away if needed
  • Reliability, conscientiousness, integrity, honesty, punctuality
