Job summary

A leading commercial construction company in Crawley is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to manage electrical works for a project. This role includes overseeing all electrical activities from start to handover, leading teams, and ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience, a valid ECS Gold Card, and strong leadership skills. The position is freelance with expectations to manage risks, quality control, and stakeholder coordination.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in an Electrical Project Manager or Senior Electrical Supervisor role.
• Proven experience delivering commercial or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical installations, testing, and commissioning.
• Valid ECS Gold Card (or equivalent).
• SSSTS or SMSTS certification required.
• Full UK Driving Licence is mandatory.

Job description

We are currently working on a commercial construction project and are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join the team on a freelance basis. The Electrical Project Manager will be responsible for managing electrical works from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring delivery is safe, compliant, on programme, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all electrical works on site from start to handover
• Lead and coordinate electrical supervisors, engineers, electricians, and subcontractors
• Review and manage electrical drawings, specifications, schedules, and design information
• Plan works, manage programmes, and ensure milestones are achieved
• Coordinate closely with the main contractor, site manager, and other trade package managers
• Ensure all electrical works comply with relevant regulations, standards, and project specifications
• Manage health & safety across the electrical package, including RAMS, permits, and safe systems of work
• Monitor quality control, inspections, testing, and commissioning activities
• Track progress, identify risks or delays, and implement corrective actions
• Manage procurement of materials and subcontractor packages as required
• Oversee snagging, defects, and final handover documentation (O&M manuals, test certificates, as-builts)
