Job summary

A manufacturing company in Hatfield is seeking an Electrical Technician to ensure the reliable operation of manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in maintenance, fault finding, and GMP compliance. Responsibilities include working collaboratively across teams, maintaining production equipment, and performing PLC system backups. The role requires a City & Guilds level 3 or equivalent, with strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize work efficiently.

Job description

The Electrical Technician will report to the Senior Production Engineering Manager, this role is responsible for the reliable and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliant operation of the Production related equipment on Manufacturing and Packaging machinery and supporting systems within the company facility.

Requirements of role
  • Maintenance, fault finding and repair of all electrical equipment and controls associated with Production processing and Packaging equipment, such that production priorities are met and the equipment performs to its optimum capability and maintains GMP compliance.
  • Project involvement working with other departments
  • Equipment failure reports on CMMS systems. eg Maximo
  • Corrective and Preventative actions and to prevent re-occurrence of faults.
  • Multi-disciplined, flexible attitude to team working.
  • Perform PLC and Computer based system back-ups and ensure Software version control in association with the company Computer Systems Register.
Preferred additional skills
  • Knowledge of PLC and Computer based systems.
  • Modify parameter of configurable devices such as Inverters, controllers and transmitter devices.
  • Electrical installation for industrial equipment
Preferred Qualifications
Time served apprenticeship or relevant experience
  • City & Guilds level 3 / Btec Level 3 / NVQ level 3 / ONC / HNC / HND
  • or relevant technical equivalent.
Must have skills
  • Fault finding skills
  • Ability to read engineering drawings. eg P&ID and loop drawings
  • Aptitude for neat, clear and concise documentation.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritise and plan own work.
