Overview
Straight-Line Civils are looking for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a client in Winfrith.
Responsibilities
- Perform planned preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems
- Install, commission, and calibrate instruments including pressure, temperature, level, and flow sensors
- Diagnose faults in PLCs, SCADA systems, and other automation/control systems
- Support electrical maintenance of motors, switchgear, and power distribution panels
- Maintain and update control system documentation
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
- Participate in plant shutdowns, upgrades, and project installations
- Respond to emergency maintenance calls and support 24/7 operations if needed
Qualifications
- NVQ L3/ City and Guilds/HND or HNC
- 17th or 18th edition electrical certification
- Knowledge of DCS, SCADA, PLC and field instrumentation
- Familiarity with ATEX environments is a plus
Skills
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Proficiency with test equipment
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Capable of working under pressure and within tight deadlines
Experience
- 4+ years experience in similar role
- Experience in heavy industry, power generation, oil and gas, water treatment, or similar fields preferred
- Proven ability to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings and schematics
- May involve work in confined spaces, at heights, or in hazardous environments
Salary
Salary - £40,000 - £45,000
