A UK-based technical services provider is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer for a position in Winfrith. The role involves performing maintenance on electrical systems, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating on installations. Ideal candidates will have relevant certifications and at least 4 years of experience in the field, with a salary ranging from £40,000 to £45,000 per year.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in heavy industry, power generation, oil and gas, water treatment or similar fields preferred.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings and schematics.

Overview

Straight-Line Civils are looking for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a client in Winfrith.



Responsibilities


  • Perform planned preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems

  • Install, commission, and calibrate instruments including pressure, temperature, level, and flow sensors

  • Diagnose faults in PLCs, SCADA systems, and other automation/control systems

  • Support electrical maintenance of motors, switchgear, and power distribution panels

  • Maintain and update control system documentation

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations

  • Participate in plant shutdowns, upgrades, and project installations

  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls and support 24/7 operations if needed



Qualifications


  • NVQ L3/ City and Guilds/HND or HNC

  • 17th or 18th edition electrical certification

  • Knowledge of DCS, SCADA, PLC and field instrumentation

  • Familiarity with ATEX environments is a plus



Skills


  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

  • Proficiency with test equipment

  • Good communication and teamwork abilities

  • Capable of working under pressure and within tight deadlines
