Overview
Our client is a rapidly growing Facilities Management company seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to carry out electrical repairs and maintenance on commercial properties across Birmingham. The role will start as static but will move to mobile over the year as new contracts progress.
Responsibilities
- Prioritise electrical maintenance PPMs and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
- Carry out a range of electrical services which could include periodic fixed electrical testing, Portable Appliance Testing, Annual Electrical Inspections and emergency lighting testing.
- Respond promptly to service call requests from the Helpdesk, assess the requirements of the job and carry out repairs as necessary.
- Carry out small fabric works and first fix calls, including plumbing and drainage calls where basic experience applies.
- Identify electrical equipment/appliances in the building which need fixing/replacing (e.g., white goods, emergency, internal and external lighting, general fabric).
- Complete electrical installation projects and refurbishments.
- Comply with the company Health and Safety Policy at all times, carry out risk assessments and complete a daily site logbook and diary.
- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times and develop a constructive working relationship with customers.
Ideal Candidate / Qualifications
- Hold relevant electrical qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 and minimum 18th Edition.
- Testing & Inspection - 2391 ideal, not a must.
- Experience working on commercial properties.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical services.
- Clean Full Driving Licence - Manual only.
Package & Benefits
- Permanent role, 40 hours per week.
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm with some flexibility for emergencies.

- Weekend hours available on voluntary basis, paid as overtime.

- Holiday: 23 days + bank holidays.
- Basic pension after 6 months probation.

- Starting salary: £40,000.
