Job description
Overview

As an Electrical Tutor, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning across both theoretical and practical aspects of the electrical syllabus, including City & Guilds and EAL programmes at Level 3 and above.

You'll inspire apprentices and learners by:

  • Delivering engaging lessons and practical sessions.
  • Assessing and supporting learners' coursework in line with awarding body requirements.
  • Monitoring progress, attendance and achievement, and supporting pastoral needs.
  • Maintaining high standards of safety, discipline, and welfare in workshops.
  • Working collaboratively with employers, training officers, and inspectors to ensure learners meet industry standards.

We’re looking for
  • A Level 3 Electrical technical qualification (or equivalent).
  • GCSE/O Level Maths and English (A-C / 9-4) or equivalent.
  • Teaching experience in Electrical Installations (classroom and blended/remote delivery).
  • A recognised teaching qualification at Level 5 (e.g. Certificate in Education).
  • Recent industry experience with up-to-date knowledge of the electrical sector.
  • Strong presentation, IT, and communication skills.

Desirable (not essential):

  • Health & Safety qualification (IOSH Managing Safely).
  • Assessor qualifications (A1/TAQA).
  • Internal Verifier qualifications (V1/TAQA).
  • Knowledge of the contracting/building services industry.
