MERITUS is recruiting an Electrical-Electronic Architect for our client in the national security industry, based in Stevenage. This is an initial 6-month contract at a major site. The company has been recognized as one of the best places to work and is currently expanding rapidly.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the electrical architecture and requirements of systems, including:

  • Specifying and determining system electrical requirements
  • Interface definitions and characteristics between subsystems and equipment
  • Power architecture, including power budgets and profiles
  • Data communication and processing architecture
  • Requirements for EMC, bonding, grounding, and screening
  • Signal safety, including routing of safety-related signals
  • Supporting testing and fault-finding activities during compatibility checks, risk reduction, system proving/qualification, and integration
  • Reviewing and authoring reports, guidelines, and processes
  • Design assessments and analysis
  • Working to defense and industry standards
  • Attending and supporting design reviews

Alternatively, the role may involve acting as the Equipment Manager (RMO) for specific electrical/electronic equipment within missile or launcher systems. Responsibilities include:

  • Project managing the equipment during development, qualification, and manufacturing
  • Owning the requirements for the equipment on behalf of the project
  • Producing Statements of Work for the design authority
  • Creating and updating activity plans for the equipment
  • Managing internal and external design authorities to deliver hardware, software, and other deliverables on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards
  • Holding regular progress reviews
  • Tracking and resolving equipment non-compliances
