Job summary

A well-established electrical engineering company in Nottingham seeks a Design Engineer to contribute to innovative projects. This role requires creating schematic designs and managing projects from start to finish while ensuring compliance with national standards. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical Design Engineering, proficiency in AutoCAD, and strong communication skills. This full-time position offers a salary between £50,000 and £55,000 with various employee benefits, including health plans and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Post-graduate design experience, ideally in LV switchgear.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and compliance.
  • Experience producing technical drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Create schematic designs and wiring diagrams for switchgear units.
  • Manage projects from inception to completion including design approvals.
  • Build relationships with clients and provide technical guidance.
  • Ensure accurate project documentation and compliance.

Skills

Proficient in AutoCAD design
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Project management certification
Strong IT literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with Procore
Attention to detail
Adaptable and resilient

Education

Degree in Electrical Design Engineering
MSc in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems)
