Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a well–established controls team, supporting projects from initial enquiry and concept development through to detailed design in the heavy machinery sector. The role is primarily office–based, with occasional travel to UK sites as needed to support project delivery.



This role would be ideal for a detail–oriented and highly organised individual with a solid background in electrical engineering and a strong working knowledge of control panel design. It would particularly suit someone who enjoys a structured environment, values technical accuracy, and thrives in a team where collaboration with contractors and clients is key.



Key Responsibilities

  • Create comprehensive electrical designs using AutoCAD, including schematics, general arrangements, single line diagrams, and cable schedules.

  • Develop engineered solutions from specifications under the supervision of the Electrical Contract Manager.

  • Monitor and report design progress and forecasts to project managers.

  • Attend client and subcontractor meetings, providing technical support throughout project phases.

  • Prepare Factory Acceptance Testing documentation and attend tests at manufacturing sites.

In return you'll receive a salary up to 65k, 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays, Private Health, and a pension matched up to 4.5%.
