Overview

We are working with a multi–disciplinary consultancy with expertise across technical, environmental, civil, structural, and M&E engineering. They are now seeking an Electrical Building Services Engineer to join their growing MEP team in Birmingham. This branch of the business focuses primarily on design–led projects, delivering innovative solutions that balance technical, financial, social, and environmental goals.

This role will sit within the newly established MEP division, offering the opportunity to work closely with experienced engineers while also taking responsibility for delivering your own projects.

What you\'ll be doing

• Electrical performance design and detailed construction design across RIBA stages 2–6

• Technical assurance, quality monitoring, and commissioning support on major projects

• Collaboration with mechanical, civil, and structural colleagues across multidisciplinary schemes

• Contributing to technically excellent, value–driven outcomes for clients across sectors including healthcare, residential, commercial, and infrastructure

What we\'re looking for

• 4–5 years\' experience in building services / MEP consultancy as an Electrical Building Services Engineer

• Strong technical capability in electrical design and assurance

• Confident communicator, comfortable working in a client–facing role and within multidisciplinary teams

• Ability to work under the guidance of senior team members while also managing your own project deliverables

• Healthcare sector experience is desirable but not essential

Role details

• Based in Birmingham, with 3 days per week in the office (Tuesday–Thursday)

• You'll work directly alongside senior engineers, with scope to develop and take on more responsibility as the team grows.
