At Cavendish Nuclear we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as an Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Technician at the Sellafield site, near Seascale and Egremont, Cumbria.

The role

As an E&I Technician, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of our operations—responsible for the repair, maintenance, calibration, and testing of Radiation Protection Instruments. Your work will ensure that critical systems meet the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and compliance.

Day to day, you’ll repair, maintain, calibrate and test radiation protection instruments to ensure customer work demands are met.

  • Work to maintain instructions and record information accurately
  • Conform to local procedures, rules and working practices to ensure compliance with specified regulatory and customer requirements
  • Provide technical advice, updates on work progress and other relevant information to customer as required
  • Act as a mentor for other team members as required, including apprentices and new entrants to department to ensure standards and best practices are maintained
Experience
  • Apprenticeship or equivalent training in relevant discipline (e.g. Electronic, Electrical, Instrumentation, Technology disciplines)
  • Knowledge and understanding of conventional and nuclear safety
  • Proven experience of servicing electronic instrument systems
Qualifications
  • Level 3 Electrical Qualification

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
