A local government body in Scotland is seeking a nurturing and motivated part-time ELC practitioner for St Columba's Nursery. The successful candidate will work flexibly and must possess an HNC/SVQ3 in Early Education and Childcare, or equivalent. They will provide high-quality learning experiences and support the nursery team's efforts in planning and evaluating children's progress. Registration with the SSSC is required, alongside compliance with PVG checks.

St Columba's Nursery is seeking to appoint a nurturing and motivated, part time ELC practitioner on a fixed term basis. The setting operates 50 weeks of the year and the successful candidates will be required to work flexibly across the opening hours of 7.45am to 6.15pm Wednesday and Thursday and 7.45am to 12.45pm every 2 nd Friday.
The successful candidate will bring a sound knowledge of early level play and development as well as a commitment to providing high quality learning experiences and interactions whilst effectively working as part of our nursery team to plan, evaluate and report on children's progress.
The post-holder must be educated to HNC/SVQ3 level in Early Education and Childcare or provide equivalent qualifications and be able to demonstrate breadth and depth of experience in an early year's educational establishment.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC.
SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
