Job Title and Location

EHS Officer – Dumbarton

Contract

Permanent, 37 hours per week

Working Hours

Monday & Wednesday: 07:45 – 16:30
Tuesday & Thursday: 07:45 – 16:00
Friday: 07:45 – 12:45

Role Overview

The EHS Officer reports to the OpEx Manager and is responsible for ensuring full compliance with EHS legislation and company procedures, while supporting the development and delivery of environmental and safety initiatives aligned to both local and corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensuring compliance with EHS legislation through effective system management and audits
  • Conducting risk assessments and audits across plant, equipment and operations
  • Developing and delivering EHS action plans based on performance data and industry best practice
  • Leading environmental initiatives including Zero Waste to Landfill and Net Zero programmes
  • Managing industrial hygiene monitoring programmes
  • Supporting training, communication and behavioural safety initiatives across the site
  • Maintaining robust incident, near‑miss reporting and investigation processes
  • Developing and embedding a culture of continual EHS improvement
  • Supporting contractor control, permit to work and SSOW processes
  • Providing technical EHS support across production and staff areas
  • Maintaining budgetary control and supporting administrative requirements
Qualifications and Experience
  • Strong personal commitment to Safety, Quality and Environmental standards (ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001)
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)
  • AIMEA qualification (preferred)
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment (essential)
  • Strong IT, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • The ability to coach, influence and develop others to achieve EHS objectives
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused approach with a strong bias for action
Purpose of the Role

The EHS Officer will ensure legal compliance across the business, support continuous improvement initiatives, and help deliver both local and corporate EHS strategies while maintaining consistent application of company policies and procedures.
