This is a rare chance to join a title known for its sharp journalism, imaginative storytelling and distinctive visual style - a place where design, fashion, interiors, travel and culture meet the authority of the Financial Times. HTSI publishes 42 print issues a year and runs a vibrant digital presence across web and social, giving you the opportunity to work across multiple formats and bring stories to life in different mediums. It's an exciting environment for someone who enjoys both the pace of a newsroom and the craft of long-form storytelling. We're looking for someone with a natural curiosity; who is a proficient multi-tasker, has a keen eye for detail, and who will throw themselves into all levels of production with enthusiasm.

Responsibilities
  • Fact-checking features and web stories
  • Co-manage HTSI's Instagram and Twitter accounts—scheduling and creating posts, monitoring online conversations, evaluating social media performance, and collaborating on additional content such as videos, slideshows, and carousels
  • Process contributor invoices
  • Perform magazine admin duties, including sending PDFs to contributors, managing department posts, and recording most popular stories
Qualifications
  • Organised and efficient
  • Confident and happy to get stuck into a range of tasks
  • Exemplary eye for detail
  • Previous exposure to an editorial features department gained through work experience, internship or equivalent
  • Proven interest in topics covered by HTSI
  • Demonstrable social media expertise

Original reporting, great writing and intelligent commentary lie at the heart of FT journalism. Our readers trust us to produce quality journalism that is accurate, fair and insightful. This is why FT editorial staff do not by default use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to write articles or create other reader-facing content. For specific and pre‑approved cases, AI can be harnessed for certain tasks, such as assisting data research for investigations. We expect applicants to refrain from using AI in their test submissions, and any written materials should be a genuine reflection of their own knowledge, skills and experiences.

We encourage candidates to use AI only as a tool to help with research and interview readiness for a role. Candidates should be aware that the use of AI throughout the application process is monitored to ensure a fair and transparent hiring process for all.
