Job summary

A leading data and technology company is seeking a Senior Economist for a hybrid role in Nottingham. You will lead country risk assessments, analyze economic data, and present findings to clients. Job Overview

Senior leadership. This is a hybrid position based in Nottingham reporting to the Senior Economist. The role involves leading country risk assessments, driving views in emerging markets, and acting as a key contact for clients.

Responsibilities
  • Data preparation, analysis, modelling and forecasting.
  • Work with large datasets from both public sources and Experian's in‑house databases.
  • Use econometric software, including R and EViews, to manipulate and forecast datasets; also use Excel and other programs.
  • Support the senior econometrician in reviewing and refining existing models.
  • Support projects to develop econometric and credit forecasting models and processes for both consulting projects with external clients and in‑house use.
  • Prepare written analyses of trends in the UK economy, regions and credit markets.
  • Present forecasts and analysis to partners.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • MSc or undergraduate degree in Economics, Econometrics or a related discipline (focus on macroeconomics, statistics, mathematics and econometrics encouraged).
  • Experience presenting economic and macroeconomic data.
  • Relevant experience building econometric models and producing macroeconomic forecasts.
  • Familiarity with UK data and analysis of UK regions or local areas, credit markets and the housing market is desirable.
  • Experience programming in R, EViews and Excel (ability to perform complex functions).
  • Ability to work on multiple economic and macroeconomic projects simultaneously.
Compensation
  • Salary: £55,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications, plus an attractive benefits package including international supplement, pension contribution and relocation allowance.
