INCA (Industry Nature Conservation Association) is a small, respected, not-for-profit organisation based on Teesside and operating across the Tees Valley and North Yorkshire – an area where industry and nature exist often side-by-side in a landscape rich in biodiversity. For over 30 years, we’ve been the go-to ecological experts for local industry, conservation bodies, and regulators.

  • Diverse habitats, from saltmarshes, dunes, and ancient woodland to intertidal mudflats, meadows, and rare open mosaic habitats
  • Projects that help protect internationally important sites for wildlife
  • Real-world environmental challenges linked to Net Zero and the transition to renewable energy
What you will develop
  • Habitat survey and mapping (including UK Habitats Classification)
  • Habitat Regulations Assessments
  • Biodiversity Net Gain assessment and application
  • Understanding and applying designated sites legislation
  • Working collaboratively with experienced ecologists and a wide range of stakeholders
What we offer
  • Highly flexible hybrid working and a supportive, family-focused culture
  • Guidance and mentoring from some of the region’s most experienced ecologists
  • Competitive salary (£25k+ depending on experience)
  • Generous holidays (up to 30+ days plus bank holidays), pension scheme, private healthcare, and paid professional memberships

This is more than just a job – it’s an opportunity to learn, grow, and make an impact in one of the UK’s most unique landscapes.

If you’re ready to build your skills and shape your future in ecology, we’d love to hear from you.
