Job summary

A leading engineering and maintenance provider in Wotton-under-Edge is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer. The successful candidate will manage the electrical aspects of project design packages, ensuring high standards while collaborating with diverse teams. You will need a minimum of HNC / HND in EC&I Engineering and experience in structured design environments. A background in hazardous area designs and knowledge of ATEX regulations is desirable.   • Experience in producing EC&I designs for hazardous areas is desirable.
  • Familiarity with ATEX regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage electrical aspects of project design packages.
  • Deliver high-standard electrical designs on time and within budget.
  • Create Risk assessments and Method statements as needed.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical, Software, and CAD teams.
  • Attend client meetings for design reviews and updates.
  • Prepare documentation for Formal Safety Assessments.
  • Peer review the designs of fellow Engineers.
  • Participate in Design Working Groups to improve standards.

The Role & Responsibilities
  • Taking ownership of the electrical elements of project design packages.
  • Complete electrical Designs to the required high standard on time and on budget.
  • Create Risk assessments and Method statements where necessary.
  • Liaising with various disciplines including Mechanical, Software and CAD in respect to interface design.
  • Attending meetings with the client for design reviews and progress updates.
  • Prepare documentation for Formal Safety Assessments and for O&M manuals.
  • Peer review the designs of fellow Engineers.
  • Participate in Design Working Groups to enhance the design standards within the department.
Experience & Qualifications
  • You must possess a minimum of HNC / HND in EC&I Engineering or an associated discipline.
  • Knowledge and experience of the design life cycle of a project.
  • Experience working in a structured design engineering environment.
  • Previous experience of producing EC&I designs for hazardous area applications would be desirable although we would consider applications from individuals who have a working knowledge of ATEX regulations.
  • Experience of producing designs for the oil & gas industry.
