AMS Nuclear Engineering Ltd (AMS) designs, builds and supplies Control & Instrumentation based systems across the UK’s nuclear industry, whether that be into the nuclear new build, nuclear power generation, decommissioning or defence sectors. Projects vary from small scoping and feasibility studies to the design of complex systems with high integrity safety functions. Our engineers typically have multiple projects progressing at any one time ensuring a good variety of work.
With engineering and manufacturing facilities all under one roof, the AMS team get to oversee projects from conception through to delivery meaning continuity of resource and quick feedback loops benefiting the client and the team alike.
We now have an opportunity for an EC&I Design Engineer to join the team delivering exceptional solutions to our clients.
JOB PURPOSE:
To be responsible primarily to the Engineering Manager working on projects across the nuclear sector including in new build, existing generation, decommissioning and defence. The role will require good communication skills with both the customer and the AMS engineering and management teams and be responsible for taking ownership of, and sourcing solutions to, any issues that arise in completion of the projects.
Projects range from the specification of a single instrument to complete system specifications and design packages including system build, site installation and commissioning. The EC&I Design Engineer is responsible for delivering the detailed design deliverables listed in the Main Duties section below.
The candidate would work from our offices in Bridgwater with some flexibility for occasional work from home. There may occasionally be the need for overnight stays when conducting on site visits.
Workplace: 1604-1605 Carnival Way, North Petherton, Bridgwater, TA6 6GY, with occasional work from home
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working pattern: Optional 4- or 5-day working week. Same hours worked per week but spread over either Monday -Thursday or Monday to Friday.
