Teaching Assistant (Early Years Specialist) – Mainstream Primary School – Bolton

Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Early Years Specialist)
Location: Bolton
Length of Role: Until July 2026
Pay Rate: £89 – £105 per day
Contract Type: Temporary with the potential to go permanent

Key Responsibilities
  • Support children across Nursery and Reception with early literacy, numeracy and play-based learning.
  • Deliver small-group and 1:1 interventions to help children meet developmental milestones.
  • Assist the class teacher with planning, preparation and classroom organisation.
  • Encourage positive social skills, independence and emotional resilience.
  • Help create a stimulating, safe and inclusive EYFS learning environment.
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to observations and assessments.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and parents to support children’s development.
Qualifications
  • Experience working within Early Years in a school or childcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of EYFS frameworks and child development.
  • A nurturing, patient and proactive approach to supporting young learners.
  • Ability to engage children in play-based and structured learning activities.
  • Confident communication and teamwork skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
