Job description

One of our clients is a large 2 form entry primary school in South Leeds and they are recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Early Years Practitioner to join their team from October half term, possibly sooner should you be available! This is a contract position initially covering a minimum of two academic terms, with the potential to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate.

As an Early Years Practitioner, you will be responsible for supporting the development, learning, and care of the children in EYFS. Working closely with the class teacher and the wider EYFS team, you will help create an engaging, safe and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of the EYFS curriculum through play-based and structured learning activities
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching staff to plan and deliver developmentally appropriate experience
  • Observe, record, and assess children's progress, contributing to learning journals and reports
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and carers to support well being
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment, following safeguarding protocols

Essential Criteria:

  • Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Early Years Education or equivalent
  • Experience of working as an Early Years Practitioner in a school or nursery setting
  • Good understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and behaviour management skills

You must have a DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one) to be considered for this role.
