The EAL Department is dedicated to supporting pupils for whom English is not their first language, ensuring they can fully access the curriculum and participate confidently in school life. Our aim is to develop pupils' proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing so they can thrive academically, socially, and personally.
We provide targeted language support through a combination of in-class assistance, small-group interventions, and individualized learning plans. Working closely with classroom teachers, we ensure that learning is appropriately scaffolded and that students receive instruction aligned with their linguistic and academic needs.
The EAL Department values the cultural and linguistic diversity that multilingual learners bring to the school community. We promote an inclusive environment where pupils home languages and identities are respected and celebrated. Our team also engages regularly with families to support effective communication and to help students build strong connections between home and school.
Through ongoing assessment, tailored instruction, and a commitment to high expectations, the EAL Department empowers learners to develop the language skills needed for success across all subject areas and to become confident, independent communicators.
