Assistant Management Accountant

Salary: £30,000

Our client is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Assistant Management Accountant to join their team in Birmingham. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a financially focused team, understanding key drivers of the business and supporting improved business performance. With a competitive salary of £30,000, this position provides the chance to continually improve service levels, cost effectiveness and add value to commercial activities.

What you'll do:

  • Business partner with key stakeholders ensuring strong commercial and operational decision making
  • Deliver proactive ad-hoc financial analysis to support business unit decision making
  • Understand and manage financial risks and opportunities arising from contract mechanisms and ongoing business performance
  • Prepare key business reporting such as month end reports, business reviews, client reports, budgets, cash analysis
  • Support closing monthly accounts ensuring sales and costs are accurately recognised
  • Promote working capital improvements through timely, accurate contract billing, active management of debt ledgers and timely resolution of queries

What you bring:

  • Completion of first level professional exam qualifications [CIMA/ACCA/ACA]
  • Passion for Finance and understanding of management accounting
  • Analytical skills with high level of attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills with ability to communicate information concisely and logically
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment
  • Good knowledge of Excel
