Job description
Dynamo Scholars - Bespoke Professional Placement

Royal Scottish National Orchestra

Deadline: 04 January 2026 at 23:55

The Dynamo Scholarship Programme is the RSNO’s paid work experience programme for anyone currently based in Scotland aged 18-26 to kick-start their career in the Creative Industries.

Each placement will be bespoke, ensuring the opportunity fits around your schedule and interests.

Scholars will be based in a department and given a mentor to work closely with. Each placement will be slightly different – you could be a runner for a family concert regional tour, behind the scenes recording for a major television or film project, or you could be with our marketing team, helping to promote our Pops concerts.

We are looking for exceptional Scottish (or Scotland-based) young people with a demonstrable passion for the arts, and a willingness to get stuck in and learn on the job. You do not need to have any previous experience working or taking part in the arts.

Scholarships are open to anyone currently based in Scotland, aged 18-26. Please note the Dynamo programme does not currently extend to instrumental activity, so whilst we encourage applications from musicians, none of the placements will be in the orchestra itself.

Placements will last up to a maximum of 5 weeks and will take place between January and June 2026. These may or may not be consecutive weeks or days. Placements will be paid at £12.60/hour and there is funding available to help with travel and accommodation costs for those not based in Glasgow.

How to apply: Please complete the application form on the RSNO's website and send it in to engage@rsno.org.uk by Sunday 4 January 2026.

Successful applicants will be invited to interview in early January in the RSNO Centre in Glasgow City Centre.

The deadline is Sunday 04 January 2026 at 23:55.

TAGGED: Audience Development / Education / Music / Young People (aged 0 to 25)
