Job summary

A local leisure provider in Hull is seeking enthusiastic Duty team leaders to supervise swimming pools and ensure a safe environment for customers. Candidates should have first aid certification and health and safety knowledge. Flexibility is required for covering holidays and sickness. Training is offered for desirable qualifications. This role includes operational management and supporting a healthy lifestyle promotion. The position is casual with a full-time equivalent salary of £25,583.

Hull Culture & Leisure are looking for enthusiastic and committed Duty team leaders to work effectively in a team, to provide a safe environment through the supervision of all customers using the swimming pools and all other areas of the facility.

Responsibilities
  • Supervisory site management, effectively conducting operational procedures and system checks in accordance with Health and Safety legislation.
  • Provide a safe environment through supervision of all customers using the swimming pools and other areas of the facility.
  • Work effectively in a team to support the management team and promote the site to encourage participation and healthy lifestyle choices.
Qualifications and Training
  • Essential: First aid at work and a basic health and safety certificate.
  • Desirable: Pool plant certificate and National Pool Lifeguard Qualification units 1 & 2; however, training will be given for the successful candidate.
Physical and Testing Requirements
  • Pre-requisite to pass a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification: swim 100m front crawl, 100m backstroke, descend to the deepest part of the pool, and swim 50m in 60 seconds.
  • A swim test will be given as part of the interview process.
Additional Requirements
  • A degree of flexibility is required in this role as you will need to cover holidays and sickness across the whole of our service.
