Overview

Design & Technology Technician — London, Onsite; Salary £26,233 - £27,263 (actual salary, term time only); Permanent, full-time role.

Excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated Design & Technology Technician to take ownership of workshop resources and equipment in a well-established secondary school, offering stability, practical variety, and the chance to directly support creative learning and innovation.

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, maintaining, and setting up equipment and resources across woods, metals, plastics, and new technologies. You will ensure machinery is safe, support staff and students in practical sessions, and play a key role in maintaining and developing the department's technical provision. This position offers the chance to combine workshop knowledge with creativity and problem-solving in a rewarding environment where no two days are the same.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a technical, workshop, or educational support role. Knowledge of basic engineering, mechanics, and modern technologies such as CAD/CAM, laser cutting, or 3D printing would be advantageous, though full training will be provided. Above all, you'll be safety-conscious, proactive, and motivated to help students thrive in Design & Technology.
