Overview

Job title: DT Technician
Salary: CSET 11 £25,584 FTE, £11,597 prorated
Hours: 19.5 per week
Working days: Flexible - to be confirmed following interview
39 weeks per year, term time + INSET
Contract type: Permanent
Location: Mangotsfield School

Responsibilities
  • Support teaching staff—both behind the scenes and in the classroom—helping students get hands-on with practical activities across areas like Food Technology, Laser Cutting, and 3D Printing.
  • Prepare resources and maintain machinery.
  • Offer in-class support and ensure health and safety standards are met.
  • Provide administrative support and contribute to a positive, well-organised learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the Design Technology department and contribute to delivering the curriculum.

  • You’re practical, organised, and confident working independently. You enjoy being hands-on and have experience using a range of tools and equipment.
  • You’re approachable, a great communicator, and ready to build strong relationships with students and staff alike.
  • Can manage your own workload and prioritise effectively.
  • Has technical expertise and can demonstrate safe use of machinery and tools.
  • Is happy to support students in practical lessons, especially in Food Technology (training provided).
