Overview

James Ray Recruitment are looking to recruit a teacher of Design & Technology to work within a leading secondary school based in Liverpool. The school community aims to create an environment where pupils are encouraged to relate well to others, be a key part of any team, empathise and sympathise when others need it, be kind and charitable to others who are less fortunate and offer forgiveness to others when they have been hurt.

Subject delivery and timetable

At Key Stage 3, all students receive a double lesson in Design & Technology all year round – there is no carousel with Art or other subjects. GCSE Product Design, GCSE Food & Nutrition, and BTEC Construction & the Built Environment are all popular options in KS4, with 4-5 groups running each year.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver Design & Technology lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students.
Contract and pay

The role is a full-time position with the salary between MPS1 to MPS6 (£25,174 to £36,961), dependent on experience.

Ideal candidate
  • Have experience teaching Design technology in Key Stage 3 & 4
  • Hold a PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be working towards the latter.
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of Design technology teachers.
  • Have a passion for teaching with the ability to plan and deliver inspiring lessons.
