A national training organization is seeking an experienced Apprenticeship Skills Coach to support and guide engineering apprentices. The role involves managing a caseload of apprentices, ensuring their health and safety, and bridging academic learning with practical application. Candidates should possess a Level 3 Engineering qualification and a strong customer focus. We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Apprenticeship Skills Coach to join MTC Training. This will be a home-based role with national travel. MTC's vision is to develop a training capability that embeds adaptable knowledge, skills and behaviours that future proof UK manufacturing. Aligning technical content identified in MTC's core business to our apprenticeship and commercial (engineer upskilling) is at the core of our strategy. As Apprenticeship Skills Coach your role is to ensure apprentices receive support, guidance and encouragement to succeed in their apprenticeship programme. The role will also require you to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application in the workplace with employers and be involved in developing the new curriculum to ensure that it's focused on industry practice and the learner journey.
We're looking for an experienced Apprenticeship Skills Coach with a strong background and experience in engineering (mechanical, electrical or electronic; multi-skilled is preferable). You will be a customer and quality focused coach, operating across all MTC Training and client locations. This position suits someone who is approachable, able to handle issues with sensitivity and confidentiality, can work under pressure and tight deadlines, works both independently with own initiative and in a team, is articulate, has strong communication and organisational skills, and has excellent attention to detail. You will also be required to promote the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
The successful applicant will be required to promptly complete training relating to safeguarding and the Prevent Duty, and will maintain our safeguarding culture by supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead and safeguarding team. The applicant must adhere to our Code of Conduct and share our commitment to the welfare of children.
