A healthcare provider in Scotland is seeking a Domestic Supervisor to join their Domestic Services Team. The successful candidate will oversee the cleaning staff, ensuring high standards of cleanliness in the hospital. Responsibilities include supervising Domestic Assistants, following work schedules, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Candidates must have supervisory experience and a driving license. This is a permanent part-time position on a flexible schedule, with a salary of £28,011 to £30,230 pro rata, plus an allowance for distant island conditions.

We are currently recruiting for a Domestic Supervisor to join our Domestic Services Team at the Uist and Barra Hospital, Balavanich, Isle of Benbecula, HS7 5LA.
The successful candidate will be required to provide an efficient and high‑quality domestic service to patients and staff, follow a specific schedule of work relating to defined areas. Duties include day to day supervision of Domestic Assistants, ensuring adequate staffing cover within the wards and departments, to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
Supervisory experience is desirable, however full training will be given. A degree of flexibility is required; this post involves evening and an occasional requirement to work at other outlying NHS Western Isles Health Board sites.
Shift times are 3pm to 7pm. Driving Licence is essential for this post.
Include monitoring all areas of our hospital clinical and non‑clinical locations. Activities will include training staff to use cleaning equipment, making sure staff have completed their statutory and mandatory training.
There is the requirement for you have a flexible approach to your daily routine. There will be the use of economic and safe use of cleaning agents, following manufacturers recommended instructions. You are required to wear protective clothing as supplied by the Department and complete all daily/weekly sign‑off sheets for areas.
The successful candidate will need to achieve the Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers and comply with the Code of Conduct within three months of full‑time employment or up to six months for part‑time workers. For further information see www.hcswtoolkit.nes.scot.nhs.uk
The successful applicant will be required to register with the PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme). This post is not eligible for relocation expenses.
