Job introduction

Our Energy Services Team seeks to employ a Domestic Energy Advisor to provide specialist and technical energy efficiency and retrofit advice and guidance to households in Portsmouth and manage a strategic engagement plan.

Your new role

The Domestic Energy Advisor will deliver tailored, face-to-face energy efficiency and retrofit advice to residents, including property surveys, technical guidance, and reassurance on upcoming measures. The role involves developing and monitoring engagement plans for the Switched On Portsmouth service, providing excellent customer service, and offering technical advice on systems like insulation, heat pumps, and solar PV in line with PAS2035/PAS2030 standards. Additional responsibilities include stakeholder collaboration, staff training, marketing coordination, handling queries and complaints, managing supplier contracts, and preparing reports for referral partners.

Who is the person summary

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of energy efficiency principles, climate change technologies, and the domestic energy and retrofit sectors, including relevant legislation and PAS2035/PAS2030 standards. They should have strong customer service experience, particularly with vulnerable customers, and excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills. The role requires the ability to manage workloads independently, develop partnerships, deliver presentations and training, and produce clear, data-driven reports for diverse stakeholders. A proactive approach, attention to detail, and the ability to manage staff resources are essential, alongside meeting residents face-to-face and effectively managing expectations.
