Job summary

A local housing association is seeking a Domestic Assistant to ensure cleanliness in communal areas of apartment buildings. Responsibilities include regular cleaning duties, monitoring stock levels of cleaning supplies, and conducting fire alarm tests.   • Report maintenance issues and monitor environmental risks.
  • Conduct weekly fire alarm tests and maintain a logbook.

As a Domestic Assistant you will be responsible for the cleaning of all communal areas in the apartment buildings and to act in a neighbourly and friendly fashion to tenants of the scheme and their visitors.

Responsibilities
  • Take responsibility and pride in the cleaning of the scheme including dusting and polishing fixtures and fittings, cleaning of all communal areas of the scheme.
  • Waste bins to be emptied regularly and all bins should be put out ready for collection on a weekly basis. These bins should also be brought back in after immediately after collection.
  • Monitor the stock levels of cleaning materials and advise the Scheme Co-ordinator/Housing Officer when stock needs replenished.
  • Environmental management by monitoring and potential risks that they come across and reporting any maintenance issue within the scheme.
  • Carry out weekly fire alarm test and record details in logbook.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in a similar role as Caretaker/Domestic Assistant in a paid or voluntary working environment.
