Job description

We are looking for experienced and loyal Domestic Assistants to join our team as contracted members of staff, working either 12 hours or 30 hours per week. These hours will primarily be evenings and weekends.

This is a really broad role covering all aspects of the Village including the Nursery, Café and Conferencing suite, Gym, Climbing Centre, Dance and Art Studios as well as Business Centre and Education & Training Centre.

On a day-to-day basis you will:

  • Professionally clean the dedicated areas of the building assigned to your shift.
  • Work with the Domestic Supervisor and wider Facilities Team in a flexible and active manner.
  • Complete a deep clean programme as and when called upon.
  • Support with ad hoc cleaning tasks as events occur in the village and be reactive to customer needs.

As a frontline member of our team, you will be working in the Village alongside our visitors, guests, and other members of YMCA staff. You will be a friendly and approachable member of the team, happy to help in any way you can.

Every day, you will follow the safe use and practices of all cleaning machinery, equipment, adhering to Health & Fire Safety practices with specific attention to:

  • COSHH
  • Infection Control
  • SHARPS & Bodily Fluid Equipment

We will provide you with all the equipment and cleaning items required and full training will be given.

About You

We are looking for someone with naturally high standard of cleanliness who enjoys cleaning and loves being busy. You will enjoy working as part of a team, dividing up all the jobs to be completed that day but able to work to your own too.

We are open to your background as long as you have some experience in cleaning, either in a domestic or commercial setting. Most important to us is your passion and commitment to join our team.
