Job summary

A housing association is seeking a Domestic Assistant responsible for cleaning communal areas and ensuring the upkeep of apartment buildings. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months' previous experience and must be able to travel. Job description

As a Domestic Assistant you will be responsible for the cleaning of all communal areas in the apartment buildings and to act in a neighbourly and friendly fashion to tenants of the scheme and their visitors.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility and pride in the cleaning of the scheme including dusting and polishing fixtures and fittings, cleaning of all communal areas of the scheme.
• Waste bins to be emptied regularly and all bins should be put out ready for collection on a weekly basis. These bins should also be brought back in after immediately after collection.
• Ensure the estate management is kept up to date including fire alarm drill, identifying and monitoring abandoned properties and assisting the Housing Officer in the investigation of anti-social behaviour.
• The carpark area will need to be monitored. There are no designated spaces. Any concerns to be passed to the Housing Officer.

Skills and Qualifications

• At least 6 months' previous experience working in a similar role as Caretaker/Domestic Assistant in a paid or voluntary working environment.
• Able to travel to meet the requirements of the post.
