Job Description

Purpose of the Role

The DNO Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of Distribution Network Operator (DNO) applications, grid connections, and approvals for solar PV installations across the clients portfolio. The role ensures that all projects are compliant with UK electrical regulations and that grid connection processes are delivered efficiently and accurately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all communication with DNOs for solar and renewable energy projects (including G99, G100, and G59 applications).
  • Prepare and submit DNO applications and liaise to obtain grid connection offers and approvals.
  • Review and interpret grid connection conditions and ensure compliance with DNO and Ofgem regulations.
  • Coordinate with design, project, and installation teams to ensure technical requirements align with DNO conditions.
  • Track and manage the progress of DNO applications to meet project timelines.
  • Lead on grid connection negotiations, costs, and connection agreements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communication logs with all DNOs.
  • Support feasibility assessments and project development by providing DNO and grid input.
  • Keep up to date with changes in DNO requirements, grid standards, and industry legislation.
  • Report regularly to senior management on project connection status, risks, and resolutions.
