Job Overview

Are you ready to take on a pivotal leadership role that shapes the future of nursing within Mental Health & Learning Disabilities? We are looking for an exceptional Divisional Nurse to join our senior leadership team and drive excellence across the Division.

The Divisional Nurse is an integral member of the Divisional Triumvirate, working in partnership with the Divisional Director and General Manager. This is the most senior nursing position within Mental Health & Learning Disabilities, offering a unique opportunity to influence strategy, lead transformation, and deliver outstanding care.

You will bring exceptional strategic and operational expertise to deliver and evaluate progress against the Health Board’s vision of achieving excellence in healthcare.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide strategic, visible leadership as the most senior nursing role within MH & LD.
  • Drive improvements in patient safety, quality, experience, innovation, and performance.
  • Lead transformation through agreed improvement models, ensuring better outcomes for patients.
  • Influence and contribute to Divisional and Corporate initiatives, assuring proactive management of clinical improvement plans.
  • Interpret and implement national nursing policy, advising senior leaders on clinical nursing issues.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, local authorities, Welsh Government, and third sector partners to shape policy and practice.
