This is an exciting time to join The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as we redevelop our estate to provide a new state‑of‑the‑art hospital for the residents of Hillingdon and beyond. We are seeking an experienced and credible Divisional Director of People (DDP) to lead the People & OD agenda within the Clinical Divisions. Reporting to the Director of Workforce, you will act as the strategic partner to divisional leadership, shaping workforce strategies, improving employee experience, driving efficiency and leading talent and organisational development activity.

Main duties of the job

You will also oversee the employee relations responsibilities within the divisions, support large‑scale change programmes and deputise for the Director of Workforce as required.

In addition, you will contribute to the ongoing development of the tri‑Trust People and OD service across our partners at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

We are looking for a senior HR/OD leader with CIPD Chartered Membership (or equivalent), extensive experience in complex organisations and a passion for inclusive culture and high‑performing teams.

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. The Trust's services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.

Person Specification
  • Educated to master's level or equivalent level of qualification or equivalent experience
  • Chartered Member of CIPD
  • Evidence of recent and relevant continuous professional development.
  • Highly confident and credible with substantial HR and OD experience
  • Thorough understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy
  • Extensive experience of managing operational ER and strategic HR achievement at a senior manager level
  • Leading the resolution of complex employee relations cases
  • Evidence of ability to manage within financial limit and delivering a service within set targets.
