Overview

Dee Valley Medical Practice is a progressive, dynamic training practice that values teamwork. We have 3 GPs, 1 ANP with prescribing, 2 Nurse Practitioners with prescribing, 3 nurses, 2 HCA and approximately 7000 patients. The practice operates from two sites, Overton and Bangor-on-Dee – Dispensary. The practice is seeking to appoint a Part-Time Dispenser to join our existing team at our new branch surgery and dispensary in Bangor-on-Dee. We welcome applications from both experienced dispensers and trainees who can demonstrate previous experience working in a high‑temperature environment requiring accuracy and attention to detail.

Pay Dependent on Experience

Hours 20 hours per week minimum, with option for more in the future.

  • To ensure that all medicines are dispensed in a safe and timely manner adhering to all legal requirements and Practice Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Provide a high level of service to patients, doctors, nurses and other members of the Practice team.

Job Description – Responsibilities
  • Ensure dispensing procedures are carried out adhering to Practice Standard Operating Procedures
  • Participate in weekly monitored dose system orders
  • Hand out prescriptions and dispensed items and collect payment as necessary
  • Deal with queries relating to prescriptions as necessary
  • Ensure outstanding queries are explained and handed over to next shift as necessary
  • Undertake DRUMs as required
  • Respond to requests of doctors and nurses during surgery
  • Ensure drug alerts are dealt with promptly
  • Ensure refrigerated items are stored correctly and maintain temperature control record book
  • Ensure incoming stock is dealt with promptly
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness on shelves and work surfaces
  • Ensure dispensary equipment is kept clean and in good working order
