We are looking for an experienced Director, People to act as the primary business partner in supporting client groups across our corporate team, in addition to serving as the right hand to our SVP, People in operationalizing a high-performing team of incredible HR professionals. In addition to managing internal client groups as a Business Partner, a key area of focus will include aligning people strategies with business goals, spearheading employee relations, and leading our cross functional policy committee. You will need to be comfortable navigating the industry challenges that exist in a virtual mental health space and be comfortable using data to make decisions in a fast-paced and operationally rigorous environment.
What You’ll Be Doing As The Director, People
- Act as a player-coach by supporting, developing/mentoring, and empowering the People team via ongoing coaching, structured feedback, and professional growth opportunities.
- Expand upon the existing People team structure to develop an annual roadmap and strong project planning that delivers impact based on established and evolving company goals.
- Foster leadership excellence by acting as a trusted sounding board to fellow leaders, equipping them with the necessary skills to enable a high-performing culture of consistency, accountability, and heart.
- Promote positive cross-functional stakeholder collaboration and relationships that index on alignment, buy-in, and influence.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the business vision to contribute meaningful strategies and projects to achieve our company’s ambitious goals.
- Apply a data-driven mindset to assess organizational metrics and provide actionable and predictive insights to business leaders.
- Lead various programmatic efforts, including leadership training, performance reviews, and engagement surveys.
- Consistently measures the effectiveness of HR initiatives and programs to ensure they are delivering desired outcomes.
- Own Employee Relations and minimize risk by driving compliance, implementing scalable policies/programs, and maintaining audit mechanisms to ensure a fair and ethical workplace.
- In partnership with the SVP, People, own all employment policies/resources and internal HR comms to effectively plan and cascade information to targeted and broad internal and external audiences.
- Champion our company’s values in every interaction and build trust across all levels of the organization.
- Serve as a strategic business partner to senior leadership focused on a transformational talent agenda designed to attract, develop, retain, and include the best talent in the industry
- Understand business strategies and how to develop high impact human capital solutions
- Closely partners with People Operations, Talent, and other PBPs to deliver superior results to the business
- Have executive presence and strong communication skills to partner with senior levels of management
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including direct management of multiple HR teams (People Partners, People Ops, People Experience, etc.).
- Strong preference for the following experience/designations:
- Healthcare (health-tech, clinical, or services) or technology industries working in progressive HR models.
- Independent contractors/1099s.
- SHRM-SCP or PHR.
Demonstrated ability to:
- Deliver thoughtful, clear communication that is tailored based on varying levels of audiences across the organization.
- Lead a People team through rapid growth while scaling beyond 400+ employees.
- Assess an organization, identify gaps, and develop creative and fiscally responsible solutions.
- Create, manage, and evaluate medium to enterprise-wide projects/initiatives with minimal oversight.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills, honed in a demanding and high-performing work environment.
- Understand of the nuances between supporting an hourly non-exempt workforce and corporate team.
- Extensive expertise in employment and labor compliance at federal, state, and local levels.
- Strong EQ when navigating challenging situations, the ability to set and uphold boundaries, and an aptitude for understanding the underlying cause of people's actions and behaviors.
