With 305 keys in total: The dual-site Hyatt Place Hotel and Hyatt House Apartments is ideally located in Sovereign Square at the heart of Leeds City Centre. This hotel offers 4 boardroom meeting rooms, a destination rooftop bar Azotea; and an 88 apartment style Hyatt House extended stay concept with F&B offering.

This is a strategic sales leadership role where the successful candidate will be able to identify, develop and proactively account manage key business/leisure travel agents corporate accounts & meetings & events customers to drive revenue, in line with the hotel’s commercial strategies. The role focuses on being proactive and results driven and requires the candidate to have strong commercial acumen with proven sales led success within corporate sectors.

A Day in the Life of…

  • As Sales Director, you will work proactively hand in hand with the senior Aimbridge team to produce a commercial plan that interprets objectives of the business and maps out the actions and strategies to support and promote the hotel in line our brand standards.
  • You’ll be a networking champion, as one of the main faces of the hotel you’ll look to establish and grow a strong local and nationwide network, utilizing existing and new contacts.
  • You’ll be a key point of communication between senior stakeholders and commercial partners and a strong relationship manager who is able to navigate conversations between groups and intermediary partners to secure new business and grow existing opportunities.
  • On property, you will work with the Hotel General Manager and Revenue team to continuously align and devise strategies and tactics to retain and grow the business. In addition, you will manage and lead the operations of the sales and events team to ensure the delivery of high-quality services according to objectives and standards.

What do we need from you?

  • A leader and influencer who instils trust: You’ll need to be a keen influencer of people, able to spot new opportunities within existing and new business and client groups and coaching those around you.
  • Sales Experience: For this role, it's essential that you have prior sales experience within the hospitality industry in an above property role as you’ll be implementing the sales strategy for a significant part of the commercial division. This may also involve playing a leading role on major strategic bids, so experience in conversations around development would be advantageous
  • Industry Awareness and External Network: As our strategic leader for sales, you’ll have the experience and ability to develop strategic relationships within the commercial landscape to find opportunities to advance the innovation agenda through partnerships and collaboration with brands
  • An action orientated self-starter: This role offers a range of existing leads and opportunities, but you’ll need to be a driven self-starter who can look at the bigger picture to spot key opportunities that will help you leverage deals with new and existing stakeholders for multiple hotels and geographical locations
  • A constant focus on performance: You’ll continuously link with brand partners closely aligning performance expectations, and holding people accountable for delivering consistent results at the hotel
