The value you’ll add:

The Relationship Management roles are responsible for acquiring, orchestrating, and growing entire client and ecosystem relationships; deepening relationships within the C‑Suite; consulting on, and cross‑selling, the entire HSBC Innovation Banking platform (i.e. Treasury management to Debt financing, etc.) to address client business and personal needs; and orchestrating cross‑functional HSBC Innovation Banking teams to optimize the client experience.

Core responsibilities in this role include assisting the Relationship Managers in managing the financial crime review process for prospects and clients, client education during the onboarding process with respect to their own compliance programs and financial crime policies. In addition, the Risk Relationship Manager will lead on all risk related policies updates and changes as a representative of the frontline teams, across fintech but also in other sectors where financial crime considerations are complex.

What you can expect to be doing:
  • Participate in introductory calls with clients across all life stages to understand organization structure, business models and start the due diligence/information gathering that may be necessary to obtain approval to onboard the new client.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to Relationship Managers and Portfolio Managers as they manage high risk prospects through the full client onboarding process.
  • Client education with respect to their own financial crime policies and procedures. Many of our clients are small, fast‑growing businesses whose business models and processes evolve. Being able to provide our insights to support their growth is a key objective.
  • Work collaboratively with Risk, Compliance and Onboarding colleagues to identify efficiencies and process‑improvements to internal onboarding and risk review processes.
  • Provide support and knowledge sharing to RMs and PMs on key risk and compliance developments and new trends in the market, such as FCA, BoE, DAC policy changes.
  • Act as the Relationship Banking representative informing new and developing risk appetite, new product development and policy changes as they relate to Risk. Examples include the development and implementation of digital asset policy, policy implications of the launch of MSB related payment products, changes to defence sector policy etc.
  • Be an external presence in the Innovation ecosystem as our SME for Risk related topics, by attending networking events and conferences, panels or dinners.
Requirements:
  • Proven related risk or financial crime‑based experience.
  • Sector based experience in working with FinTech and Consumer Marketplace businesses, preferably across all life stages.
  • Strong relationship management, stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong focus and ownership on the overall client experience.
  • Knowledge of HSBC operations and products a plus.
  • Comfortable speaking to clients at C‑Suite level and internal HINVE Co level.
  • Solid understanding of Financial Crime policy and Customer Due Diligence / Enhanced Due Diligence practices.
  • Familiarity with Fintech ecosystem, various fintech business models, and regulatory frameworks that apply.
  • Interest / experience in new and emerging tech trends such as Cryptocurrency / Decentralised Finance / Blockchain application business models is a plus.

Our home office in Finsbury Square, London. We offer hybrid working to our employees, so you can flex between home and the office, with a current requirement to be in the office 2 days per week.
